Glasswood Commercial PH Retrofit

Glasswood serves as a case study of the role Passive House can play in transforming the energy efficiency, occupant experience, and marketability of existing commercial spaces, all at affordable cost. Designed by Scott | Edwards Architecture and built by Hammer & Hand, the project is the first Passive House commercial retrofit in the US.

Passive House in the Woods

The Passive House in the Woods is a 3-bedroom, 1,940 square foot, two-story single-family home with walkout basement level, and a rooftop terrace. Commissioned by a private client, this home is the first certified Passive House in the state of Wisconsin, and at the time of completion one of only 5 Passive Houses in the United States.

The First Passivhaus Public U.S. School Building

The Center for Energy Efficient Design (CEED) in Franklin County, Va., is the first public school (K-12) in the United States designed to the Passivhaus building performance standard. This demonstration lab and learning facility situated at the edge of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, showcases a variety of renewable, sustainable and energy efficient features.
